Fall of junior year at Case. Taking ECSE 246, 344 and 395 plus STAT 332.
Working on…
- HyperBrush, a student startup building a powered toothbrush. I’m the electrical lead, so the motor drive, power and firmware are mine. The details are under NDA, but there’s a generic motor driver demo that shows the kind of problem it is.
- Still on the AtmoSense board part-time. The boards came back in August, all five powered on, and the sensor responded to real ozone. Demo here.
- Peer advising for the ECSE department.
- Treasurer for the MSA, which is mostly budget spreadsheets and making the case for funding.
Learning…
Motor drive, mostly. How a brushed motor actually behaves under PWM, what happens to the current when the switch turns off, and why the cheap transistor costs you a volt you can’t spare. I’m also still trying to get better at reaching for SPICE to answer a question instead of guessing at it.
